I do have a "mind and body by Lisa!"
I know you are busy and do not have time to listen to me squawk about the race but I am still on cloud nine. I feel fine today and the soreness is gone! I cannot wait until Austin. I know you are an elite runner and a 4 hour marathon is nothing for you but I am very proud of myself. I really accomplished a lot on Sunday and I needed that run more than anything right now. I really do not think you know how important my running is to me and I was very scared that this run would hurt me physically. When you hear a doctor tell you something like that you believe it, but we proved him wrong! My running and my work with the Leukemia Society’s Team in Training all revolves around each other and I really thought the Lord was moving me in a different direction, one that I really did not want to move into. I am still trying to figure that out right now, maybe he just wanted me to see the light and train right or else I was going to hurt myself and than you entered the picture.
I have spoken to my brother-in-law several times over the last several months and he has always questioned my training. He thought that I was not running enough to be totally prepared for a marathon. I spoke to him on Sunday after the race and he was very impressed with my time due to the number of miles I ran during my training. I told him that the number of miles is not important; it is doing it the right way and being prepared, total mind and body.
I know I did the run but I am so proud of you and what you have done in your own life that I feel blessed to be given the opportunity to work with you. You should be proud that you have the power to give life back because that is what you have given me. I do have a "mind and body by Lisa!" Well, I know you are busy so I will not say anymore but I am so excited about Austin. If I have a bad race is does not matter because I know now that I can do this and get better. Not every race is going to be a good one but I got a good one under my belt and it feels great. |
