We invite you to join us this weekend at Grand Targhee Resort for the 3rd Annual Targhee Hill Climb – Wrun For Wray. This 2.7 mile run/hike climbs 1,840 feet to the top of Fred’s Mountain a fun way to start off the summer season. (We thought it might be a snowshoe race this year, but the Teton Vista Traverse is clear all the way to the top.)
Start time: 10am, from the base of the Dreamcatcher Chairlift
Registration: $20 by Friday, June 24 (on-line or at Dreamchasers); $25 on the day of the event (on the Plaza at Grand Targhee Resort).
Presented by Smartwool, Dreamchasers and Grand Targhee Resort
Proceeds benefit the Wray Landon Legacy Fund at the Teton Regional Land Trust.
The 2011 Targhee Hill Climb is part of the Run to the Summit Series, which includes two hill climb events in Jackson Hole: the Snow King Hill Climb (Saturday, July 25) and the Rendezvous Mountain Hill Climb (Saturday, August 27). There is no extra fee to participate in the Series, but competitors are required to finish all three events, which will cover over 12 miles and more than 7,500 feet of climbing. Prizes will be awarded, along with a special raffle, after the Rendezvous Hill Climb race at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort on Saturday, August 27.
Plan on spending the day at Grand Targhee and watch the Battle of the Bands! Free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
